Getting Started With OneDrive

OneDrive gives you one place to store, share, and sync your work or school files. As part of your organization’s Microsoft 365 subscription, you can save your files in OneDrive and then work with them from almost any device.

Logging into Microsoft OneDrive

Log into Microsoft OneDrive with your work or school account, so you can:

  • Upload files from your PC or Mac.
  • Share files with others.
  • Give others permission to edit files and work on them at the same time.
  • Get to your files from anywhere, on your computer, tablet, or phone.
  • Sync OneDrive to your PC or Mac, so you can access your files even when you’re offline.

Navigating OneDrive

  1. After logging into OneDrive, you will have a variety of features and options that you can utilize to upload, save, and share your documents and files. The first options that you will see on the left side of the screen are the tabs for my files, recent, shared and recycling bin.
  1. The next options you will see on the left side are the quick access options, letting you directly access pinned and recent or commonly used teams, files, and folders associated with your OneDrive account.
  1. Across the top center of the OneDrive dashboard, you will see a search bar wherein you can search for files and folders.
  1. Below the search bar in the ribbon across the top, you have options to create new files and folders within OneDrive, upload files and folders from your device or flash drive, and sync your OneDrive files to your computer or file explorer so that they are located directly on your device.
  1. Under my files, you will see your files and folders. This is the same when you select recent, shared or recycle bin. You will see all files associated with those areas.
