Make a User (faculty/student) Unavailable in a Blackboard Course

At the beginning of each semester it is necessary for you to compare your Blackboard course roster to the WebAdvisor course roster so that they are the same. Blackboard should always match WebAdvisor. During the first few weeks of the semester students may drop or withdraw from your course and their Blackboard access should be removed. Follow these steps to remove those students from the course.

Instructions

  1. Login to Blackboard and click on the course you wish to remove a user.
  2. In the Course Management section of the navigation panel click Users and Groups.
  3. Click Users.
  1. Click the chevron by the name of the student you wish to make unavailable in the course.
  1. Click Change User’s Availability in Course from the menu.
  1. From the Role and Availability menu, select the dropdown box and change the Available (this course only) from Yes to No and click Submit.
