Enabling Notifications in Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams is the hub for teamwork in Microsoft 365. Teams enables instant messaging, audio and video calling, rich online meetings, mobile experiences, and extensive web conferencing capabilities. In addition, Teams provides file and data collaboration and integrates with Microsoft 365 and other Microsoft and partner apps.

In order to make the most of your Microsoft Teams experience, download the Microsoft Teams desktop app and keep it open on your computer or mobile device. To be sure you don’t miss anything in Teams, follow these directions to enable notifications on specific Teams channels so that you are alerted when something new happens! By default, you will receive an email message stating that you’ve missed Teams activities after thirty minutes.

Microsoft Teams, by default, comes loaded with the General channel, though additional channels can be created by the owner of the Team. Each channel has its own notification settings.

  1. Hover your mouse cursor over the channel you would like to modify the notification for.
  2. Click Channel Notifications.
  3. Click All Activity.
