Microsoft Edge offers the ability to open Microsoft Office files directly in the browser. This function is not working appropriately with Blackboard. Users are receiving an HTTP 404 error.

Users can turn off the setting in Microsoft Edge. Alternatively, users can use a different web browser like Chrome or Firefox.

To turn off this setting in Microsoft Edge, open the edge menu by clicking on the three dots next to the user icon at the top right, then click Settings.

Then click Downloads on the left, and toggle Open Office files in the browser to turn it off.
