Extend Course Dates of a Course in Blackboard

Occasionally it is necessary to extend the course dates of a course in Blackboard. Most often this occurs when giving a student an Incomplete in a course.

  1. Request a course end date modification: cvcc.tech/request
EdTech Request

If you need the course end date extended for all students in the course then you can stop here, if you’re giving an Incomplete to a student then continue with the directions below.

  1. For an Incomplete, send verification from your Department Head or Dean and then make all students in the course unavailable after the original course end date so that only the student receiving the incomplete can continue to see the course contents. Follow these directions to Make a User (faculty/student) Unavailable in a Blackboard Course for each student in your course not receiving an incomplete.

Keep in mind that assignments within the course will also need their dates adjusted for the student to be able to access and complete them.
