Creating Links to Course Tools in Blackboard

A course link is a shortcut to an existing area, tool, or item in a course. You can create all assignments in their own content area, and then create course links to individual assignments in other areas of the course, such as in a unit folder or learning module.

Why do we need links to course tools?

With the new Blackboard course navigation, a course tool link will be needed for students to access those course tools to complete work.

How to create links to course tools in Blackboard.

  1. Navigate to the Coursework area of the course and then select Tools.
  2. Select the tool that you want to create a link to from the drop-down menu. Discussion Board is used for this example, but you create links to other course tools using these steps.
