Creating Links to Course Tools in Blackboard
What is a course link?
A course link is a shortcut to an existing area, tool, or item in a course. You can create all assignments in their own content area, and then create course links to individual assignments in other areas of the course, such as in a unit folder or learning module.
Why do we need links to course tools?
With the new Blackboard course navigation, a course tool link will be needed for students to access those course tools to complete work.
How to create links to course tools in Blackboard.
- Navigate to the Coursework area of the course and then select Tools.
- Select the tool that you want to create a link to from the drop-down menu. Discussion Board is used for this example, but you create links to other course tools using these steps.
- Choose to link to Discussion Board Page. You can also select a specific Discussion Board Forum to link to. Then, click Next.
- You can then name the link, and a description, and set properties. Click Submit. This will appear in the Coursework area.
- Now, the link to the selected course tool will appear in Coursework.
