Adaptive Release for the EVA in Blackboard Courses

With adaptive release, instructors can create a set of rules to control how content is released to students in their courses. Adaptive release can be used to set criteria for when materials in the course can be accessed. The following instructions will walk you through how to set up adaptive release for the Enrollment Verification Assignment (EVA) so that students cannot access other items in the course until they complete the EVA.

*DISCLAIMER PLEASE READ BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH THE FOLLOWING STEPS. *

*Please keep in mind that Adaptive Release must be enabled on a per item basis. Adaptive Release is used to STOP people from accessing Individual items BEFORE they can see them. When using Adaptive Release please keep in mind that you MUST apply Adaptive Release to the assignment AFTER the EVA itself or students will NOT be able to complete or see the EVA. Thank You. *

How to Use Adaptive Release for the EVA

  1. To use adaptive release, go into the course on Blackboard and select a content area such as Coursework.
  1. Click on the grey arrow dropdown beside the assignment or course material you are needing to add the Adaptive Release to, that follows after the EVA itself.
  2. Select Adaptive Release from the menu.
  3. From this screen, you can set an adaptive release rule for the EVA. You can narrow down the adaptive release by date, membership, grade, and review status.

5. The criteria that you want to use for the EVA is grade. Set grade center column to Enrollment Verification Assignment.

6. Once the Enrollment Verification Assignment is selected, Scroll down to the Select Condition option and select “User has at least one attempt for this item.” Click submit, and you are finished.
