How to Register for Course(s) Online

  1. Navigate to my.cvcc.edu and login (need help logging in?)
  2. Under the Self-Service Menu click Student, then click STUDENT and Self-Service Homepage.

  1. On the Self-Service Home Page click the Student Planning menu option.

  1. Click on Go to My Progress.

  1. You may need to click on the right arrow to find your program.
  2. You can see your major, GPA, catalog year and your progress towards completing your degree.  The Progress bar shows the hours completed for your degree.  The Total Credits bar shows completed hours in dark green and current semester hours in light green.  If you have used Student Planning previously, any courses you have added to a future semester will show up in gold.

  1. Scroll down to view your program requirements.

  1. Items that have a check mark are completed. You can view your grades and which semester you took the course. An In-Progress status indicates you are currently taking the course.

  1. Items with a planned status indicates that you will take the class in another semester. Courses you still need to take are listed as Not Started.

  1. Each section has a header that lists your progress towards program requirements.  For example, this student has completed 3 of the 5 General Education Requirements. The student still needs to take a Social/Behavioral Science credit and a Natural Science/Mathematics credit.

  1. By clicking on a course name, you can find important information about the course, including a brief description, any pre- or co- requites, and which location offers the course.

  1. You have the options of viewing currently available sections and adding it directly your schedule or you could add that course to your academic plan.
  2. Be sure you click on which semester you want to take the course in by checking the box under Show All Terms.  Let’s look at what sections are currently available.

  1. To add a specific course session to your schedule click Add Section to Schedule.

  1. Click Add Section.

  1. You will receive notification that you added the section to your schedule successfully.

  1. Repeat this process until you have finished adding all the courses you need to your schedule. Under Plan and Schedule, click the right   chevron to display the semester you want to register for classes.

  1. Review your courses.

  1. When you are ready to register, click Register Now.
